Tile: Rise from the Ashes

In today’s world we are surrounded by society pressure and life’s hardship. Unfortunately, this can cause people to turn to a dark path for their lives. The good thing is there is always light at the end of the tunnel. The work of art I created was inspired by the topic of addiction. I picked addiction because it is such a pressing topic in todays world. People who battle addiction and are on the road to recovery are looking for a second chance at life. The phoenix in my artwork symbolizes second chances and rebirth after addiction. The mediums I used are black drawing paper, different colors of chalk and watercolor paint. This was first time using paint and I am suprised how the end result came out. I was expecting painting to be hard and it came easier to me then I thought.

Another view of this project can been seen through the eyes of what is currently happening. This pandemic has caused us to go into a dark place as a country. Although we are in a state of the unknown, again there is light at the end of the tunnel. We as people and a nation have to rebirth ourselves into something new. Whether it is learning new ways to teach, learning new ways to make money, or starting new projects/hobbies. This wont last forever and it wont be dark forever. We will rise like a phoenix and start anew.
